How can I increase student reading motivation through technology?
Motivation takes time and collaboration between students and teachers. Creating a motivating instructional climate is crucial for learning. Students need to be ready and willing to learn, read, and comprehend. I believe reading motivation starts with the teacher. We have to be willing to get our students interested and truly motivated. Motivation has to become a top priority in learning. This is where technology comes into action. Technology has the power when used correctly to increase student motivation. Technology allows students to focus more on higher order thinking skills, such as creating, evaluating, and analyzing. This pushes our students to become the critical thinkers and problem solvers we want them to be, and need them to be for the 21st century.
